CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (NBC33) — An elderly man had to be rescued from his vehicle this afternoon in Calcasieu Parish.
The Louisiana State Police Troop D rescued the man who reportedly drove his vehicle into a ditch that had a moderately strong current. The man was safely removed and brought to safety.
There are still approximately 20 roads listed as closed across south Louisiana; however, flood waters in some areas are beginning to recede as rainfall slows. State Police ask motorists to be extremely careful over the next few days as more rain is expected to pass through the area. It is illegal to drive around a “road closes” barricaded area.
