St. Martin Parish, La — Five men have been detained on theft charges in St. Martin Parish.
On December 31, 2012, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Wilderness Campground, located on Atchafalaya River Highway in St. Martin Parish in reference to reports of thefts from some of the patrons at the campground.
During the course of the investigation at the campground, deputies were able to recover one Yeti ice chest, one K-2 ice chest, and one pair of SS golf cart rims. Matthew Latiolais, 17, Dakota Robicheaux, 17, and Logan Douet, 17, were all arrested and charged with these thefts. Further investigation revealed that Scotty Gaudin, 18, was also present during the incident at Wilderness Campground.
Investigators also discovered that the same four suspects along with Bryce Vann, 17, stole a golf cart from a separate local business.
All the property that was recovered has been returned to their rightful owners.
Douet and Robicheaux were charged with two counts of Theft Over $1500 and Criminal Damage to Property Over $1500. Latiolais and Gaudin were charged with two counts of Theft Over $1500; Gaudin's arrest is still pending. Vann was charged with one count of Theft Over $1500.
