SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — Just seven days into the new year, Shreveport has already had it's 3rd homicide of 2013.
Around 6:30 Monday evening, the Shreveport Police Department was called to a shooting that happened in the 2500 block of Mabel Street.
When they arrived, they found the victim of the gunshot wound, but the shooter had already left the scene. In talking to witnesses, officers learned that the victim had been in an argument just before the shooting happened.
After starting an investigation, Cordavien Anderson, 20, was developed as a suspect. Officers tried to located Anderson at known addresses, but were unable to find him. Later in the evening, Anderson came to police headquarters and surrendered. He has been charged with second degree murder.
The victim, whose name has yet to be released, was taken to LSU Hospital, where he died a short time after.
