BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — An LSU alumnus is preparing for his greatest challenge thus far. He’s been selected to participate in the 57th Presidential Inauguration.
Tech. Sgt. Daniel Walley is the newest member to the U.S. Air Force Band and already he’s gaining the opportunity of his lifetime.
“[I’m] excited and a little intimidated that I could be a part of something that important to the country and to history itself,” he said. “It’s such an old tradition that we still go through every four years and to be a part of it is very exciting. I’m really glad to get to see it all from the inside and not from a camera lens.”
The ceremony will take place on January 21, 2013. The first inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama in 2009 had the largest attendance of any event in the history of Washington, D.C. It was also the first inaugural event to be featured as a webcast.
