NBC NATIONAL NEWS — An Ascension Parish man wanted by deputies for over a month is finally in custody.
Shane Medine, 32, turned himself over to Gwinnett County, Georgia police.
Police arrested his girlfriend, Amber Gorenflo, 18, in November for the same crime.
Deputies say almost everything that was stolen was recovered, much to the relief of the victims.
"They were most appreciative that their items were returned,” said Maj. Kevin Hanna with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. “We recovered all but two weapons. Shane Medine's family was just hoping he would turn himself in."
Medine is also facing burglary charges in Livingston Parish and charges for failing to register as a sex offender.
