OPELOUSAS, LA (NBC33) — An Opelousas man was arrested for allegedly threatening to blow up the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
In the early morning on New Year’s Eve the dispatch office reported that a caller said he planned to use gasoline to blow up the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were notified of the location where the call was placed. While they were responding, the suspect allegedly placed several more calls repeating his intentions.
Once deputies arrived at the location, they say Christopher Lemon, 31, exited the home and approached them in a “very aggressive manner.”
Lemon was arrested and charged with Telephone Communication Harassment, Terrorizing and eight counts of Communicating False Information of a Planned Arson.
No bond has been set at this time.
