Alexandria, La — The Alexandria Police Department has made an arrest for a shooting that occured on December 26.
At around 9:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of gunshots in the area of the 2900 block of Monroe Street. When they arrived, a victim, an adult male, was found with non-lethal injuries. He was transported to a local
hospital for treatment.
Based upon witness’ accounts, officers immediately located a suspect vehicle in the area and after a brief vehicle and foot pursuit were able to apprehend Markus Lair, 22.
Lair was chardged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was taken into custody and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
