Hammond, La — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested three Hammond residents caught in the act of selling stolen property.
On the morning of December 26, the Burglary Unit received information of three black males stealing iron from a gravel pit on Morrison Road. The three subjects were observed leaving the establishment in a green extra cab Dodge pick-up truck. Detectives immediately began in search of the vehicle.
Within 20 minutes of receiving the information, detectives located the vehicle at Florida Parish Scrap Metal where the occupants were unloading the stolen property to sell.
All three were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass and Felony Theft.
Keith Johnson, 35, was additionally charged with Misrepresentation at Booking and several outstanding warrants (Illegal Tint and Driving Under a Suspected License).
The other subjects arrested were Tryon McGee, 40, and Profit Guidry, 33.
All three subjects remain in the Parish Jail awaiting bond.
