Denham Springs, La (NBC33) — A man was killed while trying to cross Highway 16 in Denham Springs.
It happened just after 7:00 p.m. last night near Eastover Boulevard in Livingston Parish.
State police say John Barker, 69, tried to cross the highway when he walked directly into the path of an oncoming van.
Police report that the driver of the van tried to stop, but couldn’t.
Barker died at the scene.
