NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The Kansas Bureau of Investigations exhumed the bodies on Tuesday of the two killers featured in Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood."
KBI agents will exhume the bodies of Perry Smith and Richard Hickock to collect samples for DNA testing.
The pair were convicted and executed for the 1959 murders of Herb, Bonnie, Nancy and Kenyon Clutter in Finney County, Kansas.
They are buried in private burial grounds in Leavenworth County.
Now, Sarasota County, Florida authorities believe the pair may have been responsible for a similar 1959 quadruple homicide.
