BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Motorists in Baton Rouge will be happy to know that one of the many construction projects on I-10 has been completed. Today DOTD announced the Essen Lane off-ramp from I-10 eastbound is officially finished.
The ramp has been under construction for the past several months as part of the widening of I-10 from four to six lanes between the 10-12 split and Siegen Lane.
“The opening of the I-10 eastbound off-ramp at Essen is a welcomed improvement for drivers, allowing them more breathing room as they travel this route. It’s a significant milestone for this project and more importantly signifies that construction between the split and Siegen is nearing completion,” said DOTD Secretary Sherri H. LeBas.
The remaining sections of the project are anticipated to open in 2013. The construction project costs an estimated $86.2 million.
