NBC News — Looking for a place to survive if the world ends this month as predicted by the Mayan calendar? Travel deep into the cellars of a Ukrainian winery that's opening its underground cellars for an apocalypse event. Four hundred beds and five deluxe suites are tucked in the cellars' long tunnels. Organizers say there's enough room for hundreds of people should the world really end on December 21st.
Potential guests have visited the cellars to help decide if that's where they'd like to retreat. The winery's director said the cellars have served as a hideout many times over its 135 year old history and even survived an earthquake. The winery has stockpiled enough food for around 400 people to live underground for two weeks. The cellars are heated, and there's an oven for preparing food. Of course there's also plenty of sparkling wine.
