BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — You don’t have to be in New York to experience a Hurricane Sandy benefit concert featuring some of the biggest names in music. Rather, you can watch the three four event right here in Baton Rouge at the Perkins Rowe movie theater.
Tonight’s 121212 Concert  will feature performances by Eddie Vedder, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and the E. Street Band, Eric Clapton, the Who, Kanye West, Billy Joel, and Bon Jovi. Also, there will be a special reunion featuring all the original members of Nirvana. Filling in for frontman Kurt Cobain will be Sir Paul McCartney.
The concert will begin at 6:30 central and will be aired on a global television network, as well as streamed live online. They anticipate the concert will be viewed by roughly 2 billion people worldwide.

All proceeds raised by the concert will go to benefit those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
