Lafayette, La — Police in Lafayette are looking for a man that robbed a pawn shop.
On Monday, December 10, 2012, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to the Bayou State Pawn Shop, located in the 1300 block of Moss Street regarding an armed robbery.
The suspect, a black male approximately 5’10”, 185 pounds, entered the business wearing a bandana over his face and carrying a shotgun.
He immediately advised everyone inside to lie on the floor. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer.
Prior to the suspect fleeing the business, he and an employee of the business were involved in a struggle. The suspect was last seen running south on Moss Street. There were no injuries during the incident.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
