Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A new sculpture is under construction in downtown Baton Rouge.
The sculpture has been called "The Crest".
It'll be located in the Galvez Plaza. When it's done, it'll weigh more than 65,000 pounds and stand 35 feet tall.
Officials say it's a structure that will add depth to downtown's artistic appeal.
“It's an iconic piece and it joins other great sculptures that have here at Galvez Plaza," stated Davis Rhorer with the Downtown Development District.
The Crest is a $900,000 project and part of the Central Green Master Plan. It should be finished by the end of January.
