NBC News — Newly elected Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto promised monday to continue his country's war on drugs. In an interview with the Associated Press on goals for his new administration, Pena Nieto was asked if votes to legalize recreational use of marijuana in Washington and Colorado would make him rethink his country's drug-war policy.
He replied saying that Mexico will continue on its fight against all drug-trafficking, production and smuggling including marijuana. He added that he wasn't convinced that legalization was a route to achieve better safety conditions.
