STOCKTON, CA (KTXL) — Authorities are investigating Stockton's 69th homicide after a drive-by shooting left an 18-year-old dead.
Police got a call at 5:12 p.m. reporting a drive-by shooting near S Lincoln Street and Mosswood Avenue. Once at the scene, they found the teen shot dead.
The teen had just got home with his family and was pulling a Christmas tree down from the roof of the car just before the shooting.
Investigators have said that they do not believe this shooting is gang-related at this time, with the teen not having any gang ties. Homicide detectives note that it may just be a case of mistaken identity.
Witnesses have given varying descriptions of the possible car the suspects were driving, so police will not release any suspect information at this time.
