BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A huge donation for St. Vincent de Paul today came from the group The Needy of Greater Baton Rouge.
Today the two foundations teamed up to donate about 5,000 toys for less fortunate children in our area. The toys will be passed out to kids later this month. It's a donation that's sure to light up the faces of children who may not have had a visit from Santa otherwise.
“That gift giving spirit will be live and well and the faces of the kids says it all it tells them that somebody loves me this Christmas,” Michael Acaldo, St. Vincent de Paul, said.
For every gift donated Needy Greater of Baton Rouge will match that gift with one of their own.
If you'd like to help the people who are in need in Baton Rouge, come join us at Perkins Rowe on Thursday, Dec. 13 for our final Holiday Collection drive. We’ll be there all day collecting items for donation to St. Vincent de Paul. Also, there will be free photos with Santa as well as arts and crafts for kids of all ages.
