NBC News — Syrian activists say the conflict is causing bread shortages across the country. Activists say the shortages are being caused by violence in around the city delaying food trucks.
Syrian rebels have achieved several tactical victories over the past couple of weeks, overrunning two air bases near Damascus and capturing a hydroelectric dam in the north. Activists say the nearly 21 month old uprising has killed more than 40,000 people.
