NBC News — Deadly clashes over Syria continue in northern Lebanon. Gunmen loyal to opposite sides in neighboring Syria's civil war are battling in the streets. The death toll from three days of fighting has increased to at least seven with dozens more wounded.
The Lebanese army has fanned out across the city of Tripoli in an attempt to restore order. Authorities have also closed major roads because of sniper fire. The fighting in Tripoli pits Sunnis who support Syria's rebels against Alawites who back embattled Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
