Lafayette man charged with vehicular homicide bonds out of jail

Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A Lafayette man has bonded out of jail after being arrested on vehicular homicide charges.

Lafayette police say Fred Dutton was drunk when he crashed into Rachel Sonnier, who was traveling with her three-year-old child on the night before Thanksgiving.

Sonnier died in that crash. Her child survived.

Lafayette police won't say what Dutton's blood alcohol level was.
