HOUMA, LA (NBC33) — Deputies are currently looking for a man believed to have set off a chemical reaction in a Wal-Mart over the weekend.
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred at the Wal-Mart in west Houma on Sunday, Dec. 2 at roughly 4:00 p.m. We’re told a male suspect entered the store and intentionally set off a container that caused a chemical reaction.
Officials say the container included chlorine and caused a thick cloud of smoke to fill the air. The store had to be evacuated. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30’s, with a muscular build and reddish colored hair. He was wearing tan colored shorts and blue T-shirt.
