BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A standing room only crowd is expected for tonight’s semi-final contest of the high school state playoffs. For the first time Parkview and Livonia will meet on the gridiron.
It's pretty typical to see Kenny Guillot’s Parkview Eagles right in the mix for a state title this time of year.
"I have to give credit to our coaching staff and we use the words ‘we’ and ‘team’ and not I in our language around here,” Guillot said. “I just tell them have no regrets and whatever happens will happen."
With three fairly recent championships, his program does remain hungry. The bitter taste of defeat from a year ago resides in their mouth.
"Our senior last year we lost in the semi finals and hopefully they can draw from that,” he added.
Friday's challenge against Livonia is a big one, a date to the state finals are on the line.
“Nothing is given, we don't talk about that, we talk about Livonia and that is the only thing that is on my mind, the coaches mind and the players mind hopefully.”
Kick off is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at Parkview.
