GONZALES, LA ( NBC33) — A 32-year-old Gonzales man has been arrested and charged with 40 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles, announced Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
Jason Owens was arrested Wednesday following a multi-agency investigation by the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Owens’ arrest occurred as a result of evidence found during the execution of a search warrant at his residence. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Prison without incident.
Owens is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison on each count.
