SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport police have arrested a school bus driver after she allegedly battered a student.
At around 5:20 p.m., back on November 15, 2012, Shreveport officers were dispatched to a home in the 6400 block of Lexington Avenue to a reports of an assault. When police arrived at the scene, a mother told them her nine-year-old son had been in a fight with another student on a Caddo Parish School bus.
According to statements given to authorities, the bus driver allegedly physically hurt the child, however, police did not see any visible injuries to the little boy.
Detectives were notified of the allegation and initiated an investigation into the matter. Based on evidence gathered, authorities determined there was probable cause to arrest the bus driver, identified as Gay Miller, 37.
Miller voluntarily turned himself in at the Shreveport Police Complex Wednesday, Nov. 28 in the afternoon and was issued a misdemeanor summons charging her with one count of Simple Battery.
