LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — The search for a missing teen from Louisiana inadvertently resulted in the return of a runaway from Fort Worth, Texas to her family, just in time for Thanksgiving.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that a tipster claimed to have spotted Keiosha Felix in Dallas, Texas. Felix went missing on April 30, 2012 from the Duson area. Officials say the tip along with circumstances led them to believe it was a promising lead.
Investigators worked in conjunction with the Dallas Police Department. A 15-year-old girl who was reported as a runaway was located and identified. They believe this is the same female the tipster reported seeing.
“Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Investigators are pleased that a 15 year old girl was able to be safe with her family this past holiday because of their efforts,” Cpt. Kip Judice, Lafayette Police Department, said. “What is desperately needed is that call to the authorities pointing investigators to where Keiosha is.”
The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the location of Keiosha Felix.
If you have any information related to the whereabouts of Keiosha Felix, please call Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-8477, or the Federal Bureau of Investigations (337) 233-2164 or (504) 816-3000.
