NBC News — The wreckage of a helicopter that went missing in 2004 with two people on board has been discovered in a remote part of New Zealand. People on a sightseeing tour recently spotted the crash site by air.
Police confirmed the discovery to be the wreckage of helicopter that went missing in January 2004 carrying a New Zealand pilot and a British tourist. DNA analysis will be used to formally identify the victims, but police have advised the families of the discovery not to get their hopes up too high. The wreckage is spread across a large area.
