Slaughter, La (NBC33) — Crews are still cleaning after yesterday's fire and explosion at the Monolyte Labs plant in Slaughter.
In a statement today, an official with Monolyte stated that they'll look at rebuilding the plant once they're cleaned up, talked with employees, and make sure customers are getting their needs met.
The rebuilding phase could take anywhere from six to twelve months.
We're told the company has already found comparable jobs with another manufacturer for nine of their workers.
Monolyte will provide a severance for employees they can't place.
The fire broke out at monolyte just before 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning. Investigators are still working to pinpoint a cause for the fire.
