Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Exxon Mobil has teamed with an area food pantry today to hand out special Thanksgiving food boxes.
Complete with pumpkin pie, turkey and all the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal, around 60 turkeys were given out to families in need.
Stephanie Foster says without the Thanksgiving box, she wouldn't have had enough food to feed her extended family. She says the turkey giveaway saved her Thanksgiving.
"Oh my goodness, I am so gracious, so appreciative,” stated Foster. “I didn't know what I was going to do.”
Exxon Mobil's community outreach team holds the turkey giveaway every year.
They claim the need was even greater this year than in years past.
