Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Some teachers at the Baton Rouge Community College are angry over a payroll mishap.
After a meeting this morning, about one hundred teachers were informed that they will have to pay back a large sum of money to the school.
The error stemmed from an auditing mistake made a while ago. Now, almost $600,000 is owed to the school by these teachers.
The people who work nine months but get their pay dispersed over twelve months are the ones being affected.
Officials with BRCC say they will work with the teachers to help them develop a feasible payback plan, but teachers are still upset.
Almost all of the teachers NBC33 talked with are furious about this situation, but most did not want to comment on camera.
