Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The Southern Jaguar football team is resting up this week for next Saturday's annual Bayou Classic against archrival Grambling.
The event brings in more than 200,000 visitors to the New Orleans area, providing an estimated $30 million dollar impact to the city.
Ticket sales have steadily declined over the past three years, but the event's organizer says sales are up about 3,000 tickets in comparison to last year at this time.
Both the Jags and the Tigers are having subpar years, but the schools hope to bring the best of their fan base down to the Big Easy.
