Gonzales, La (NBC33) — A standout softball player at a local high school has signed to play for the Purple and Gold.
Bailey Landry is a centerfielder at East Ascension High School.
She also plays for the Louisiana Patriot Gold Travel Team.
Landry and her dad said other offers from other schools came, but her mind was made up when LSU came calling.
“I’ve always been raised as a Tiger,” stated Bailey. “The decision was pretty easy, but my heart was just always there.”
“To have the opportunity to play at a school like LSU - we have been lifelong LSU fans, we grew up purple and gold”, said her father Darrell. “Other offers came, but when the LSU offer came, it was all over. That's where she has always had her heart, and that’s where we wanted her to go. We are so grateful that she has this opportunity.”
Landry is the first Louisiana commitment to coach Beth Torina.
