Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Thanksgiving is just a week away, and while families are prepping the turkey, local stores are getting ready for the Black Friday rush.
But just like the Christmas decorations, it seems like every year, the Black Friday rush comes earlier and earlier.
Some stores are even planning to open doors on Thanksgiving.
Shoppers say the slow Black Friday creep will actually help maximize their shopping time.
“Getting through the night and staying up through the night is always very stressful for my whole family, since we go out as a family and do everything together anyway,” stated shopper Diana Day. “So being able to kind of space it out and have time to go back home, eat dinner and then go back out again makes it a little easier."
Several stores, including Target stores across the nation, have made the decision for the first time to open at 9:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
