NBC NATIONAL NEWS — (KVLY) Horse rescue groups in Minnesota say they are at full capacity, overwhelmed by malnourished and abused horses, and they don't know how many more they can save.
Just this past weekend, one rescue organization based in Hawley received eleven malnourished horses, many fighting to live.
They believe many horses are turning up like this due to a shortage of hay and a consequent price hike.
