Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — House and Senate committees have approved a privatization plan for the Louisiana Office of Group Benefits.
The plan will allow Blue Cross-Blue Shield to manage more than 60,000 people.
The vote comes a week after it was delayed because the plan did not have enough votes to pass, which resulted in Republican opponents of the plan getting removed from the House Committee.
The Jindal administration says the move was made to save money.
