HOUMA, LA (NBC33) — A 62-year-old man was locked up after he was busted for stuffing meat in his pants and allegedly leaving the store without paying for them.
The Houma Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at a Wal-Mart located on Grand Caillou Road in Houma. The suspect, Robert Louis Carter, was observed taking four T-bone steaks out of a cooler. He allegedly hid the meat in his pants, then left the store. Officers caught up with him in the parking lot before he could leave.
Officials say this isn’t the first time Carter is accused of taking items from this particular Wal-Mart. In fact, he was banned from the business after being caught stealing on three previous occasions.
Carter was arrested and charged for Theft of Goods (multiple offender) and Entry/Remaining After Being Forbidden. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
