CHICAGO, IL (WGN) — A man is recovering after police say he was shot five times over his iPhone.
It happened in Chicago's Fuller Park neighborhood near the Red Line station on 47th Street Monday night.
Police say 31-year-old Anthony Kuber was walking from the station to his father's house when he was jumped by two masked men, robbed, and shot.
Kuber was dragged into an alley, and shot four more times.
He was spotted by a person driving by, and Kuber was then rushed to Stroger Hospital.
"First shot was through his hand, he put his hand up to block, it went through his fingers on his right hand," said the victim's cousin, Mark Sheehan. "And then one went in his chest and went down into his abdomen. His stomach is still wide open right now in the hospital."
Kuber says there was no struggle over the phone. His family says he needs two more surgeries, and will have to learn to write with his left hand.
No arrests have been made.
