Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Law enforcement officials are just about ready to take the next step in the BRAVE program.
District Attorney Hillar Moore says authorities plan on bringing in twenty known criminals from the 70805 zip code for a meeting in December. The "call-in" would involve law enforcement telling these criminals to clean up their act or face the consequences.
This is part of the BRAVE program to make the parish's most dangerous zip code safer. Moore says the program is already paying off.
“I think it's had an effect in the fact that people are talking about it, and both the community and faith-based community are being involved,” stated Hillar Moore. “I think that all has an effect."
There were no murders in the 70805 zip code in October. The BRAVE program started in May.
