BATON ROUGE, LA — Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Peggy Hatch presented a $21 million check to the city of Kenner yesterday. The funds, which came from the Clean Waters State Revolving Loan Fund at an interest rate of.95 percent, will be used to upgrade Kenner’s wastewater collection ad treatment facilities.
Kenner plans to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations and forcemains throughout the City in order to provide additional flow, flexibility and control. A closed circuit television inspection of portions of the collection system will be done to identify damaged lines in need of repair. Work at the treatment plant will include the redesign and construction of the dechlorination facility, headworks, clarifiers and piping.
