SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — One person is now in police custody after a family argument turned violent last week in Shreveport.
On October 26, at 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital to reports of a man who had been stabbed in his mid-section. When police arrived, they met with Jarrarcea Williams, 28, of Shreveport, who told them he had been slashed by a family member, later identified as Joseph Smith III, 43, of Shreveport, at house on the 2000 block of Stanley Street. Smith fled before authorities arrived at the crime scene.
Williams injuries were not listed as serious.
Early Wednesday morning, detectives found Smith at home in the 3200 block of Judson Street. He was cuffed and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with aggravated battery and booked into the city jail.
