ASCENSION PARISH, LA (NBC33) — Today was a historic day for Ascension Parish as C.F. Industries announced a $2-million plan for its nitrogen-producing plant.
The company manufactures many of the key components used in agricultural fertilizers. With the expansion they're also promising 93 new jobs. The plant has been operating in Louisiana for 50 years and today's investment is the largest in history for the parish.
"This announcement will represent one of the largest single capital investments in the history of ascension parish, not only that but one of the biggest investments in our state's history," Governor Jindal said.
The Donaldsonville complex is the largest of its kind in the country. The company is also being offered several millions in tax credits as incentives for bringing the business to Louisiana.
