NEW ORLEANS, LA — The hit television show “America’s Got Talent” is bringing its scouts to New Orleans.
The series, which awards $1 million and a Las Vegas performance contract to the top act, will hold tryouts at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Dec. 8 and 9.
Unlike most other network talent competitions, the show encourages performers in a wide range of areas, including music, dance, magic, comedy, juggling – even animal acts. Finalists in the 2012 edition of the talent showcase included a comedian, a family dog act and a one-of-a-kind musical act.
There is no age restriction for those wishing to audition. Registration in advance is required.
New Orleans is the fourth of a dozen cities slated, so far, to host tryouts. Performers have 90 seconds to impress the series’ producers in hopes they will advance to appear on stage before the "America’s Got Talent" judging panel.
