Baton Rouge, La — Baton Rouge General announced today the expansion of its wound care services to its Bluebonnet campus.
The additional Bluebonnet location will begin services effective early November 2012.
Every year, 3 to 5 million Americans suffer from chronic wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation or other conditions that can lead to amputation. The General’s wound and hyperbaric team specializes in healing a variety of these types of wounds.
Medical Director Dr. Shaun Carpenter notes that, “Baton Rouge General’s efforts to expand these vitally important services for our community are in hopes of reversing Louisiana’s alarming rates of patients who suffer limb loss.”
