NATALBANY, LA (NBC33) — A man was arrested after he allegedly shot someone in the leg during an argument.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the Natalbany area. We’re told the victim checked himself into a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Deputies learned that the 33-year-old victim had been engaged in an argument with Joseph Meche Jr., 54, of Hammond. The victim claims that Meche pulled out a shotgun and fired one shot at him, striking him in the leg.
Meche was arrested at his home shortly after 10:00 p.m. He was charged with Second-Degree Battery.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition and is expected to recover.
