Bayou Corne, La (NBC33) — People living in Bayou Corne have a rough timeline for when they'll learn how much gas pressure is in the aquifer, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
They say the Shaw Group wrapped up testing almost 20 geoprobes, or shallow wells, but results won't come in until around November 15.
The DNR says they've spent over $2 million monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, the Texas Brine Company says they have removed close to 900 barrels of crude oil from on top of the sinkhole since September. Clean-up efforts on the sinkhole are ongoing.
