Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Mayor Kip Holden has signed that alcohol ordinance passed by the Metro Council last week to relax blue laws in the city-parish.
Beginning on Sunday, bars will be able to open as early as 11:00 a.m. in the morning, and retail stores can start selling alcohol at 6:00 a.m. in the morning.
Before the ordinance was signed, bars could only open if more than half of their revenue came from food.
The controversial ordinance was voted on at last weeks' meeting.
