BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Four former LSU Tigers football players are in trouble after they were caught this afternoon with marijuana.
Officials tell us that the incident happened at roughly 3:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched the an apartment complex on West State Street in reference to a complaint about four men attempting to force their way through a security gate. Officers were directed to the apartment of Tyrann Mathieu, 20, by a maintenance worker who confronted him about the issue regarding the gate.
Officers say when Mathieu opened the door to his apartment, they smelled marijuana. They then asked for consent to search his apartment. Three other individuals were inside the home, including former LSU players Jordan Jefferson, 22, Derrick Bryant, 22, and Karnell Hatcher, 22.
Inside the apartment they found a marijuana grinder, digital scale and 10 bags of high grade marijuana. Seven of the bags were found inside Bryant’s booksack.
All four were arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana. Hatcher was charged with Second Offense Simple Possession of Marijuana. Bryant was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
