NBC News — Growing violence in Lebanon has turned deadly. One person was killed in clashes in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. Protesters were seen chanting outside Prime Minister Najib Mikati's home as tents were set up outside.
Unrest has spread across the country following the funeral of Lebanon's intelligence chief who was a strong opponent of the Syrian regime. The opposition believes Syria is behind the killing and that the Lebanese prime minister is too close to Syrian President Bashar-al Assad. A former Lebanese prime minister has called for a new government.
