NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Jerry Sandusky’s attorneys have filed an appeal in his sex abuse case.
The former Penn State University assistant football coach was sentenced to 30-60 years in prison for his conviction on dozens of counts of child sexual abuse.
Just after his October 9 sentence was handed down, Sandusky’s defense attorney Joe Amendola addressed the media and said Sandusky would be ready to start the appellate process within the next ten days.
In June Sandusky was found guilty of 45 counts of child sexual abuse, convicted of molesting ten boys over a 15-year period.
Sandusky and his attorneys have maintained his innocence.
For the 68-year-old Sandusky, the punishment handed down by Judge John Cleland is effectively a life sentence.
