NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Early voting has begun in what experts have called a battleground state.
Beginning on Thursday, North Carolina voters could cast an early, in-person ballot at polling locations across the state.
Both President Obama and Governor Romney want the state's 15 electoral votes.
The closely contested race generated long voting lines this morning in the Tar-Heel State.
North Carolina alone has seen $69 million worth of Radio and TV ads during the general election, ranking it fifth in presidential campaign ad spending.
